Archibald Rutledge (SC, 1883-1973), Rutledge was the first South Carolina poet laureate from 1834-1973, including The Banners of the Coast, 1908, inscribed by Rutledge to his son, his second book; New Poems, 1915, inscribed by Rutledge to his son; and 11 other titles, most inscribed to Rutledge family members.
