possibly Chattanooga, late 19th/early 20th century, "Waterbury" buttons with Tennessee State Seal insignia, interior stamped "C.K. Peacock" and twice stenciled "Walker", with associated documents Note: The jacket with long tails in the back has an overall cut and style that is reminiscent of Revolutionary War era military dress. Waterbury Button Company buttons found throughout are of the style used from 1870 to 1900.Included are documents showing possible attribution to Charles King Peacock of Chattanooga who spent time in the National Guard. There is also some chance this garment saw repurposed ceremonial, rather than military, usage. - Provenance: Private Collection
