(Dutch, 1639-1684)Portrait of a Lady, possibly Maria Mancini, 17th century, oil on canvas, 19-7/8 x 15-3/4 in.; parcel gilt wood frame, 26-5/8 x 22-5/8 in. - Note: Brunk Auctions would like to thank Nadja Garthoff, MA, Curator, RKD Netherlands Institute For Art History for her research on this painting. The lot is accompanied by a letter with her comments that suggests the painting is likely a studio copy after a now lost work by Netscher. Garthoff suggests, "We think that your painting is a variant of the Portrait of Maria Mancini in the Galleria Colonna in Rome, which according to M.E. Weisman (Casper Netscher and late seventeenth-century Dutch painting, Doornspijk, 2002) was made by someone from Netscher's studio." - Provenance: Private New England Collection
