Sakuma Kiln Japanese, late 1940s, two square mold-formed stoneware bowls with line and floral decoration, 9 in.; one round bowl with dabs of brown and green glaze, 10 in.; five coffee cups and saucers with green glaze, cups 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 in., (13 pieces total); with four reproduction images of period photographs of Totaro Sakuma (1900-1976). Condition: all good condition. Notes: The coffee cups were made by Sakama-san for Prof. Bennett and at one time included a coffee pot. The bowls are attributed to the Sakuma kiln.. Provenance: Collection of Prof. John W. Bennett; Collection of Commander USNR (Ret.) Wayne S. and Mrs. Lydia B. Shiver, Asheboro, North Carolina
