Lead creative artist at Steuben Glass in New York, Sidney Waugh (1904-1963) was a twentieth-century sculptor best known for architectural and large-scale works as well as small design glass, and in addition designed many public and private monuments on the East Coast. At the end of WWII, Waugh participated in the international efforts to track down monuments and art works taken by Germans, and to return them to rightful owners and stewards across Europe.
