21 in. round barrel, serial number 4162 stamped on lever interior, breech loading, lock is marked "STARR ARMS CO. / YONKERS, N.Y." and the upper tang is marked "B/STARRS PATENT / SEPT. 14TH 1858" directly behind the hammer, top of the barrel in front of the rear sight is marked "STARR ARMS CO YONKERS N.Y.", left side of the barrel at the breech is marked "L.A.B.", brass single barrel band marked with "U", buttplate with an "F" on tang, firing mechanism appears to work
