brown glaze overall, with mottled greenish black glaze runs at top of jar, down back of head and sides of face, applied facial features including nicely articulated ears, pronounced chin and lips, broken china teeth, white clay eyeballs with red pupils inset in eyelids with related eyebrows, incised hair decoration at head and upper lip, applied strap handle from shoulder to base of spout, possibly of Alabama or Georgia make, 10-3/4 in.. Condition: glaze voids and anomalies as made, minor firing separations, restorations at upper left eyelid and brow, and lower lip, minor loss to corner of right eye with small restoration, chips and restoration to left and right ear, base edge wear.
