Japan, 19th century, scalloped form painted in six sections possibly for the Persian market, three with blue scrolled frame enclosing a small bird nesting on stylized leaves, alternating with three wider sections that feature mustard lions or foo dogs sleeping in a lotus patch, underglaze blue mandala in center, small square underglaze-blue character mark on bottom, 9-1/4 in.,.
