early 20th century, three women, two children (one with watermelon), and two old men with canes (one carrying a bag of cotton), made of painted walnuts, cornhusks, fabric scraps, wire and other miscellaneous materials, 6-1/2 in. to 11 in.,. Condition: cornhusks are dessicated and fragile, fabrics are dirty, boy with watermelon has torn pants, no stands. Provenance: Collection of Anne McPherson and the Late John Bivins, Jr.
