.58 caliber, 9 in. smooth bore barrel, proof marks "P" and "US" on left side of barrel, brass blade front sight on fluted iron barrel bands, lock with worn makers stamp "S. NO.." and "MIDLM. CON.." surrounding an eagle with "US", brass flash pan, stock with inspectors initials "A.O." and "2" on butt, iron back strap, butt cap and trigger guard, ramrod with wide tip, 15-1/4 in. overall

patina, oxidation, pitting, and some yellowing to iron surfaces, handling wear and minor surface abrasions throughout, chip to wood stock behind lock, 1-1/4 in. old chip to wood at barrel tang, oxidation in barrel, action and trigger function
