Chinese, 18th century, cover with stylized bats, tapering body with elaborate figural and landscape design with trees, bridge and pagodas, silver mounted spout and carved wood handle, base impressed with makers mark, 5 in.
Notes: It is the belief that Yixing tea pots, with this type of wooden handle and silver spout were fabricated in Canton.  If the goods arrived broken in Canton, before export to Europe, these additions were fabricated onto the tea pots.
