Virginia, circa 1818, top inlaid with "E [diamond] J", signed in chalk on underside of top "Made by John Vardy", secondary woods poplar and white pine by sight, 28 x 39-1/4 x 19-1/4 in.Note: John Vardy was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia, in 1800 and married Esther Black in 1818.
