probably Scottish, early to mid 19th century, spot motif sampler with Adam and Eve bottom center, four line verse over cartouche signed "Martha Beaumont Aged 9 Years", flower basket border, wool on linen, sight 15 x 16 in.; probably original maple frame, 18 x 19-1/4 in. - Provenance: A North Carolina Private Collection
good bright colors, a few light stains and minor bleeding around brown wool embroidery, surface losses/wear to left side of frame, not examined out of frame
