Offering items from two family collections acquired in China in the early 1900s. One from Dr. Stanley Burns, who worked in China to provide much-needed medical care to the local population. The other group from L. Nelson and Virginia Bell, who were missionaries in China from 1916 to 1941. Other Chinese and Japanese items from private collections include Qing Dynasty enamel porcelains, bronze and porcelain water droppers, a fine selection of snuff bottles, along with a group of jade figures, bronze Buddhas, furniture, and jewelry.

comprising: two similar stacking jars, both with scenes of scholars on lids, exteriors with butterfly and floral motifs and shuangxi (double happiness) symbols, both with Guangdong Cultural Relics Bureau #1 wax export seals, 4-1/4 x 3-5/8 x 3-5/8 in., 4 x 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 in.; one squat form famille verte jar, lid with scene of scholars before a tree, sides with lush plant life, sticker on base, 2-1/4 x 3-5/8 x 3-5/8 in.; one cylindrical form jar, lid and exterior with floral motifs, Guangdong Cultural Relics Bureau #1 wax export seal on base, 2-5/8 x 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 in.; one bulbous form jar, lid and exterior with floral motifs, 1-1/2 in x 3-1/8 x 3-1/8 in.; one cylindrical form jar, lid with interior scene of vases, flowers, and table, exterior with medallions, censer, vases, and others, base with wax export seal, possibly from Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau #3, 4-1/2 x 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 in.; one cylindrical form jar, lid and exterior with scenes of goldfish and foliage, 4-5/8 x 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 in.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
