Note: Starting at the age of six, Ceylon artist Senaka Senanayake was considered a prodigy. He completed large paintings each day after school and by the end of the year, over a hundred paintings were ready so Senaka?s parents invited L.P Goonatilleke, a well known journalist and art critic to evaluate his work. He was so impressed that he immediately persuaded the Ceylon Society of Arts, the oldest art institution in Sri Lanka to organize a solo exhibition at the National Art Gallery. In March of 1959, the 8-year old painter had his first solo exhibition. The artist was eleven when he painted Red Horses. To date, he has held over a hundred one-man exhibitions in over 18 countries and on five continents.
