Sebastian Münster (German, 1489-1552), Tabula novarum insularum, quas diversis respectibut Occidentales & Ionianas uocant, from Cosmographiae, Basel, 1550, with text verso, wood cut on laid paper in two sheets, image 10 x 13-1/4 in. sheet 11-7/8 x 15-1/2 in.; modern frame 19-1/2 x 22-1/2 in. Note: This is the 5th state of the map (out of 13 states) from the 1550 Latin edition of Cosmographia. This state has "Die Nüw/ Welt" moved lower down, and replaced by "Nouus orbis," with the phrase "Insula Atlantica quam uo- / cant Brasilii & Americam" in South America, "Temistitan" is named in Mexico, "Sciona" is at the foot of the flag, and latitude and longitude bars are not present. Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
