circa 1861, six shot .44 caliber, serial number 1528 stamped under the frame in four places, on the cylinder and barrel wedge, 7-1/2 in. barrel with "-ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT-" stamp, blade front sight, split hammer rear sight, left side of the frame stamped "COLT'S/PATENT", cylinder stamped "PATENTED SEPT 10, 1860", small letter "B" stamped on the bottom of the barrel, possible indiscernible "G" inspector stamp to left side of trigger guard, four screw frame with recoil shield cut, brass trigger guard, walnut grips, 13-1/2 in.

dark mellow patina to metal components, barrel, loading lever and cylinder with some surface pitting, tarnish and oxidation, losses colored surface on trigger guard, wear to finish of handle with 1/2 in. chip to one side, chip to front toe of left side of grip, wear and surface abrasions, trigger, hammer and cylinder seem to function appropriately, barrel wedge with tight fit, hard to manipulate, good surviving condition
