Japanese, Edo period, lacquered metal breast plate ornamented with gilt painted dragon, built-in six paneled skirt consisting of laced lacquered strips with similar designed shoulder guards ending in finely wrought chain metal and lacquered metal arm guards, separate lacquer metal, linen and chain metal shin guards, iron helmet with half face mask and four-lame throat guard, with original wood, papered and iron metal storage box, wood stand and plexiglass case, suit only, approximately 27-1/2 in. length; storage box, 19-1/2 in.; shin guards, 19-1/2 in.; case, approximately 5 ft. 6 in. height

tears and repairs to arm guards, overall scratches and abrasion to armor, much of the rope lacing probably replaced, repairs and losses to helmet and half mask, one shin guard in two pieces, both in poor condition, losses to paper on wood case
