British, 19th century, ceramic urn shaped water ewer, depicting neptune astride the spout holding the reins of a sea creature, swags of leaf decoration, gilt banding, round column support resting on a square base, mounted as a lamp on a wooden plinth, 30 in. to finial
some discoloration to surface, some gilt loss, loss to wooden base, electric cord frayed, quite possibly a handle was originally behind neptune's back
