France, mid 18th century, man in colorful jacket and vest with black hat under his arm leans against rustic stump and rocks with baroque scroll and holds a small bouquet in one hand and a basket of flowers in the other, a spindle is at his feet, marked on the bottom with crossed "L"s enclosing the letter "A" with letter "C" below (possibly referring to decorator Constantine), 14-1/4 in.,.
