(Japanese, 1888-1986), 画集北京 (Art Book Beijing) , Tokyo: Kyuryudo, 1973, signed and inscribed by the artist, containing numerous illustrations, some hinged in, text in Japanese and French, bound in full dark red leather over marbled boards and endpapers, in matching slipcase with gray and gilt lettering; Anemones, 1962, signed lower left "R.U/62", label in Japanese verso, giclée, 13-1/8 x 8 in.; unframed - Provenance: Estate of an Illinois Collector; by descent in family - Note: The lot is also accompanied by a copy of a letter containing correspondence between the collector and the artist, in which the collector recounts a visit with Umehara and his wife. During the visit, the collector received both a book (presumably the one listed here) and a "reproduction of 'Anemones, 1962'" as gifts from the artist. Also included with the lot are photographs of the artist and his wife, taken by the collector during his visit.

Condition
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
