Commonwealth ("Miss Penn"), 1905, signed "R.H. Perry Sc." and inscribed on base "Sketch Model of Statue Surmounting Dome/State Capitol Building/Harrisburg, PA./Designed by Joseph M. Huston/Arch.t.", with foundry mark "Cast By The Henry Bonnard Foundry Co./N.Y. Vernon N.Y. 1905.", bronze, 48-1/4 in.

Note: The sculptor is said to have modeled "Commonwealth" after his daughter, Letitia. The original work was commissioned in 1904 to rest atop the dome of the state capitol building in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Condition

verdigris patina from weathering, abrasions, possibly lacking element with vacant screw holes on proper left side of garment, lacking eagle atop staff
