(Massachusetts, 1862-1929)Colorado, circa 1920s, signed lower left "Robert Reid", oil on canvas, 37-1/2 x 40-1/4 in.; period Newcomb-Macklin carved gilt wood and composition frame, 44-1/2 x 47 in. - Note: This painting most likely dates to the time when Reid was living in Colorado Springs and on the teaching faculty at the highly respected Broadmoor Art Academy there, from 1920-1927. Notable instructors at Broadmoor included Ernest Lawson, Birger Sandzen and John F. Carlsen, among others.
