(British, 1880-1950)Three Greyhounds in a Landscape, Giralda's Cornish Man, Giralda's White Knight, Giralda's Princess, 1939, signed lower right "Ward Binks39", gouache on paperboard, 13-3/4 x 15-1/2 in.; wood frame, 18-5/8 x 20-1/4 in. - Note: Giralda Farms was the estate of the Morris and Essex Kennel Club's driving force, Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge. In 1931, Ruben Ward Binks took up residence there to paint for his patron and remained as late as 1939 when this work was executed. Giralda's White Knight was imported by Geraldine Dodge in 1938. Giralda's Cornish Man won Best in Show at the Suffolk County Dog Show in 1940 and the Union County Dog Show in 1941.
