British, circa 1900, full scale replica from the original black basalt stele excavated at Fort St Julien, el-Rashid (Rosetta), Egypt, Ptolemaic Period, 196 BC, by the British Museum, London; Gothic style oak case by Fogle Brothers (Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 1871-1932), French plate glass, 49 x 47-1/4 x 39-1/2 in.
Note:This replica was fabricated by the British Museum from the original circa 1901. According to the museum, the inscription "is a decree passed by a council of priests, one of a series that affirm the royal cult of the 13 year-old Ptolemy V on the first anniversary of his coronation."

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
