On the Path Homeward, Cuba, circa 1930's, unsigned, watercolor over pencil on paper, 14 x 20 in.; gilt silver frame, good condition, not removed from archival framing; frame with minor abrasions. Notes: Marsh began painting small watercolors in the late 1920's. By the 30's his technique was fully mastered. During this period Marsh visited Cuba. Consistant with other watercolors from this period, it depicts a lone figure which "adds an important element," according to scholar Norman Sasowsky.
