Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, early 18th century, single dovetailed long drawer on ring and baluster turned base, set with stretchers, yellow pine and white cedar secondary, 28 x 39-3/4 x 24 in.Exhibited: Philadelphia Museum of Art,ÿWorldly Goods: The Arts of Early Pennsylvania 1680-1758, illustrated in the accompanying catalog, pg. 144 (front stretcher has been replaced since the time of exhibition) - Provenance: set with engraved brass plate "Thomas Wynne, M.D./Secretary & Physician of William Penn, Speaker-Assembly died 1692"; descended to Anthony Morris II, one of Dr. Thomas Wynne's patients, and subsequently through the Morris family; Private Collection, Madison, Virginia
top is an old replacement, front medial stretcher replaced, feet formerly set with casters (now removed, significant loss at one rear foot), brasses replaced, some repairs at center of drawer bottom
