Petersburg area, 1780-1800, boldly formed frame with arched crest and serpentine front rail, slightly tapered legs with stretchers, through-tenon construction, yellow pine, poplar, oak, and cherry ? secondary, 41-1/2 x 31-1/2 x 28-1/2 in.

generally good structural condition (currently not upholstered) later vertical bracing for wings, losses and distress at crest-rail attachment, minor patch at front of one wing, breaks and repairs at one front foot with small patch, casters replaced, typical tacking scars with associated distress and losses, some later nails and screws
