Carolinas, possibly Charleston, circa 1800, reeded, urn turned foot posts with drapery and tobacco leaf decoration, square bases with large bellflower inlay, tapered square head posts, solid mahogany rails, 83 x 81-1/4 x 61-1/2 in.
Note:Lot is accompanied by a letter from Frank L. Horton (MESDA) suggesting the bed is from Charleston, and by a photograph of bed probably in a Mulberry Plantation, Camden, South Carolina bedroom.
, Provenance: These objects have passed through the hands of the descendants of Governor John Laurence Manning and have furnished family homes in South Carolina, including Sarsfield, Camden, South Carolina. Ellen Manning Williams Glover to her daughter, Sally Bland Glover Johnson in 1974 (see note at photograph verso). Note: Please note that Lots 1709-1717 have been consigned by a descendant of Governor John Laurence Manning of South Carolina and not by the Mulberry and Millford Plantations.Condition

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
