Dining Chairs circa 1700, probably English in the Dutch taste, each with shell carved crest, highly figured veneered splat, upholstered slip seat, shell-carved legs with "H" stretchers, beech and walnut secondary, rich mellow patinated surfaces, 43-1/2 x 22 x 23 in. Provenance: Malcolm Franklin, 1969. According to receipt "From the collection of Lady Grizel Hamilton, former lady-in-waiting to Queen Mary" (copy of receipt accompanies lot); Private Collection, Wilson, North Carolina

two with blue damask upholstery and two with pale blue velvet, excellent condition overall, scattered minor pest damage, other very minor flaws
