Water Cooler circa 1940s with original Frigidaire enameled label, cream-painted cooler with spigots and basins on either side, one side marked "Colored" and one marked "Whites Only", 49-1/2 x 19-1/2 x 30 in., scattered surface wear and paint losses, minor dents at corners of lid, areas of corrosion and spotting, some color variation (two paint layers with some areas of cleaning). Notes: A rare survival from segregation era South, most of the related segregation era artifacts, including water coolers, were destroyed after the Civil Rights Movement.. Provenance: Reputedly from a town square in Biloxi, Mississippi
