American Federal Fireplace Bellows labeled by "L M Johnson Southington, Conn", 1820-1830, finely stenciled and painted in shades of lemon yellow, ocher and bronze with traces of gilding, brass nozzle, circular printed signature panel is in the aperture in bottom, 19 in., leather elements replaced, surface wear and paint losses especially at handle, center top with one area of paint retouch, gilding losses. Notes: Accompanied by documentation from Winterthur indicating the maker was previously unrecorded and is likely Leonard M.
