Piedmont, North Carolina, circa 1815, rare form with pierced and inlaid impediment centering a heart motif, paneled doors opening to a shelved interior, brass H hinges, lowercase with five dovetailed drawers, yellow pine secondary throughout, original tall dovetailed bracket feet, light wood inlaid escutcheons, 93 x 33-1/2 x 18-1/2 in.
Provenance: This, MESDA notes, "chest and bookcase came from North Wilkesboro, North Carolina by way of marriage of Hallie Lenore to George Forrester in the middle of that town. She was from the Lenore family of Fort Defiance, North Carolina.
