dial signed "David Wood/Newburyport" (w. 1790-1850), arched painted dial with rocking American ship (rocks with pendulum), arch painted with erupting volcano, brass eight day time and strike movement, waisted mahogany case, inset quarter columns, fretwork pediment, original brass finials, scalloped base, French feet, period pendulum, winder, two weights present, 86 in.

generally good condition with scattered minor retouch to dial with losses at mounting posts, extensive losses to paint on rocking ship, paint retouch to arch (possible restoration to applied wave element at bottom), minor breaks, repairs, and losses to fretwork, patch in box base, lacking bottom board, patches and repairs to feet with minor loss at front foot, works and dial appear to be a good match

Shipping arrangements are made only after the invoice is paid. The payment for shipping is a separate charge from payment of your lots.
Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
