Lincoln County, North Carolina, 1831-1864, runny mottled light olive green alkaline glaze, ovoid form, stamped "I.L." and "5" on opposing applied strap handles, flat semi round pinched rim, 14-1/4 in.

Note: Isaac Lefever was an apprentice to Daniel Seagle, the 1850 Lincoln County census shows him living with the Seagle family, he continued to work as a potter in the Catawba Valley up until the time he enlisted in the NC 46th Infantry Regiment, Company K, of the Confederate Army, he was later mortally wounded at the Siege of Petersburg, Virginia, and died in 1864.
