attributed to Wilkes County, 1790-1800, yellow birch with triple dark and light string inlay, with five dovetailed drawers with yellow pine secondary, two cabinet doors, set on tapered legs, dovetailed and rosehead nail construction, 44 x 68-1/2 x 24-1/2 in.
Provenance: Private Collection
brasses replaced, scattered chips and wear at feet, some minor pest damage, scattered minor repairs to inlay at escutcheons, some alterations to central cabinet doors (appears that originally the doors were on the same plane as the drawers and the quarter round tiger maple moldings were added later, at which time the doors were recessed; molding above and below the doors have been moved back or replaced), otherwise excellent structural integrity, other scattered surface wear, stains, and minor repairs
