signed "Hector Guimard" (1867-1942), black-painted cast iron surround with relief decoration in the Art Nouveau taste, signature at bottom right, variegated white marble surround, 37-1/2 x 41-3/4 x 20 in., marble generally good condition with minor breaks and repairs at vertical struts, iron elements with light surface dirt and corrosion, abrasions at attachment of marble (hidden when assembled).
