(New York/Venezuela, 1820–1897) Arabic Woman, unsigned, gouache on thin porcelain panel, 9-7/8 x 7-1/4 in.; possibly original fine gilt wood and composition frame within a velvet lined ripple molding shadow box, some retouch at bottom with former water damage, minor abrasions; frame with one floral boss off but present, abrasions. Notes: Ramón Páez was an artist, writer, diplomat and a personal friend of Frederick Church. He is discussed in text for the exhibition [Nueva York (1613-1945)], New York Historical Society..
