American, early 20th century, ovoid vase decorated with large red and gold pulled feathers, signed "Quezal", with etched silver fronds and foliage overlay by Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company, marked "Sterling Silver", 5-1/4 x 3-1/4 in. - Provenance: Sotheby's Parke-Bernet, New York, sale no. 3967, Lot 118, purchased April 1977 for $550; Estate of Jay R. Doros, Springfield, New Jersey - Note: This vase was part of the exhibition "Flights of Fancy: The Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Company" at the Museum of American Glass at Wheaton Village, Millville, New Jersey, April 13 through October 20, 1996, curated by Gay LeCleire Taylor. This vase is illustrated in the exhibition catalog on page 7, fig. 4-1.
