London, 1896, silver pocket watch form case opening to gilt silver fold out frames with six photos, including Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee photo, case monogrammed "1837/VR/1897" (Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria), maker's mark "HP" in shield form cartouche, 2-1/4 in.

Note: Queen Victoria was well known for her passion for and use of photography to promote the Royal Image. At the time of her death she had a collection of some 20,000 photographs. The images in this locket include Queen Victoria and her family, including Prince Albert, Princess of Wales, Duke of York, Duchess of York, Prince Edward of York. Because of the delicacy of the locket, the photographs were not removed for inspection, but could perhaps be period albumen prints from cartes de visite or other photographic images.
