probably British, early 18th century, figured walnut veneers, arched and scrolled crest with central pierced gilt shell, over distressed two part mirror plate with molded and gilt surround, 49-1/2 x 18-3/4 in. - Provenance: Property from the Collection of Dudley and Constance Godfrey
extensive veneer cracks and distress, scattered gilding losses and wear, mirror surround likely regilt, distress to silvering on beveled mirror plates, typical warping at crest, possible restoration to central shell, original backboards and likely original mirror plates (not removed for exam)
