and Burlwood Mirror British or Continental, early 18th century, burlwood and parcel gilt frame centering a two-part mirror plate with central star decoration, finely carved crest ornament with pierced shell, stylized leaf and fruit centering a mask, lower corners with scallop shell gilt ornament, 42-1/2 x 19-1/2 x 2-1/2 in., excellent condition overall, typical surface wear and gilding losses, some checking and cracks to veneers with minor repairs, distress to mirror plate silvering (plates not removed but appear to be original).
