American, 1897-1930, 21 Presidential appointments, signed by seven U.S. Presidents and Secretaries of State (or acting Secretaries of State), with embossed seal, two William McKinley; two Theodore Roosevelt; one William Howard Taft; five Woodrow Wilson, one also signed by William Jennings Bryan, another by Denmark Prime Minister Erik Scavenius, a single Wilson possibly secretarial; one Warren G. Harding; five Calvin Coolidge; five Herbert Hoover, likely a stamped signature for Hoover on each, most 19 x 23 in. with some slightly smaller; assignments in Cuba and Nova Scotia; program from dinner honoring President Theodore Roosevelt, 1905, hosted by Hungarian Republican Club of New York, signed by Roosevelt on cover and by Toastmaster Marcus Braun at interior, 9-1/2 x 7-1/2 in.
Note: John Elwin Kehl (1870-1936) served as an American Consul from 1897 until his retirement in 1932, based primarily in Germany. During this lengthy tenure, the United States saw seven different Executive Branch Administrations, spanning from President McKinley to President Hoover. - Provenance: Private Collection, Asheville, North Carolina

Condition
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
