Note: According to the original invoice from Ronald C. Bauman, Inc., this portrait was attributed to Trumbull by Dr. Edgar Richardson, (1902-1985), the renowned American painting scholar, curator, museum director, and author.  In addition, the stretcher bears an old paper label inscribed "no. 18289/From Augustus Foley Boston Tea Party".
