attributed to James Gheen, working Rowan County late 18th/early19th century, walnut with yellow pine secondary, dovetailed drawers flanked by chamfered corners, straight bracket feet, rosehead nail construction, feet with original blocking, 39-1/2 x 39-1/2 x 21-1/2 in. brasses replaced, top with minor cracks and warping, facings with patches and repairs (several facings replaced), top drawer facing with 1 x 8 in. face patch, old refinishing, other scattered stains, cracks, flaws consistent with age and use.
