Bird's-Eye Maple Work Table finely constructed, top drawer set with dividers, case set on four fluted columns and four leaf-carved and fluted saber legs on brass casters, 30 x 21-1/2 x 16-1/2 in., brasses replaced, legs with some cracks and repairs (fragile), top drawer lacking one divider, scattered veneer cracks and checking especially to top, some separations at rear corners of top with associated minor cracks and molding losses, top formerly with ivory buttons on top and small skirt drops now removed. Provenance: Ginsberg & Levy, New York (sticker under one drawer); Israel Sack, purchased February 1987 (accompanied by copy of note from Harold Sack, dated February 1987, describing the table and the price of $22,000); Private Collection
