Philadelphia area, 18th century, serpentine crest over a highly figured splat, cabriole legs with ball and claw feet, probably original poplar slip seat with yellow and white upholstery, 38 x 30 x 23 in.

later seat frame blocking, feet formerly fitted with casters now removed, cracks to front legs at joint with seat rails, possibly once fitted with supports for a commode (side skirts with small nail holes), refinished with some sun fading and checking to veneers (possible restorations to splat?), some knee returns restored
