39 in. rifled round barrel, "409" stamped inside conversion, 1864 dated lock, no serial number found, breech marked "W. H & GW Miller/ Patent May 28, 1865/ Meridan Man'f'g. Co. / Meriden, Conn.", three "U" marked barrel bands, metal ramrod, smooth US buttplate; Provenance: Private Collection
possible repair at trigger guard and breech, crack in wood at trigger guard and at front of right lock plate, dark brown mottled patina to barrel and other metal, missing left side plate, interior of barrel appears to be clean, butt with owner markings, wood with scratches, dings and dents consistent with age and use
