Chinese, 20th century, small vases with hand painted images of a scholar holding a tablet with young boy washing a tablet, both with iron red signature stamp on bases, each with poem, 5-1/4 in. 

,  both in good condition, one with firing anomaly in clay at base with raised area under black decoration, one with internal depression in clay (1/2 in.) which can be viewed above scholar's tablet
