Possibly Chelsea, English, mid-18th century, both on bases molded in form of rococo scrolls, the woman with pink kerchief holding a basket of flowers, the man with blue hat holding a shovel and carries fruits in his apron, woman with two red anchors and a tiny swastika painted in red under base, the man with a indecipherable red-painted mark under base, man 9-3/4 in. petals missing from some of the flowers on both figures; portions of man, including hat, jacket, one shoe, and shovel, may be repaired. Provenance: Estate of Mary Martha Blalock, Asheville, North Carolina
